Welcome back darling, today is my round up of the Autumn Winter Shows. With 4 cities and countless shows I have narrowed it down to my Top 5 per city. I have linked all the collections so you can investigate any of them further.
Without any more preamble:
Michael Kors Collection
Fur, Tailoring, Texture and a muted colour palette. Michael Kors did it again with a fantastic collection, with a stand out runway appearance from Ashley Graham. Whats not to love.
I loved the rich Americana vibe that the Coach show provided with the plaids, leathers and layers. Also the set was incredible and added to the whole collection.
Diane Von Fustenberg
Under Jonathan Saunders, DVF has become a see now buy now brand. Incredible layering, textures, a riot of colours and patterns the collection is beautiful, and mostly sold out too !!
Flowing silk silhouettes were the order of the day at Sies Marjan. Beauty seemed to be celebrated, bottled and sent down the runway. No one could not feel elegant in this collection.
I loved the exaggerated silhouettes in this collection. Add to that the mix of colours and textures this was a serioulsy strong and covetable collection form Proenza Schouler.
One show that I attended front row, this collection BLEW me away. The details in the pieces were beyond. I adored the colour palette, and the silhouettes. Han Wen is someone to keep an eye on.
Christopher Kane can always be counted on for an incredible collection and this season did not disappoint. I really loved all the colours and the textures, a fresh and modern take on dressing.
Playing with proportions and the female form, Anderson presented a collection of interesting shapes and cuts that really pushes fashion and how women dress.
I loved this presentation SO much. With Grace Jones playing, the set was a mid 80’s office. INCREDIBLE, the mix of vinyl and wool with velvet, everything in this collection was PERFECTION.
Re-ermerging as a strong fashion brand, Mulberry really impressed me. I love a strong nostalgic colour palette, and the mix of browns, greens, purples and greys had such a strong 70’s feel.
Allesandro Michale seems to be getting stronger every season. With around 100 looks, there was so much to take in, and the work in the pieces was incredible, I cannot wait to see this being worn.
Miuccia Prada may well be the uncrowned queen of Milan, showing sell out collection after sell out collection and this season was just the same. I really loved the volume and the textures within the collection.
Francesco Risso’s debut collection for Marni was exceptional. With a similar 70’s vibe that we have seen in Prada in seasons past- no surprise as he comes from a background in Prada- this collection was a plethora of prints, textures and colours- whats not to love.
This collection felt like a matador crossed with Christan Lacroix. I love how the couture-esque pieces had a soft unique flow to them. Wearability and femininity were clear influences.
There was a strong 80s vibe at Armani this season. I loved the mix of bold primary colours across velvets and wools. Armani knows what women want and it is this !!
I am a sucker for a scarf and Phoebe Philo provided some of the best scarves I have seen. The colour palette, the hard leathers the soft flowing dresses all combined made for an incredible collection.
Stella McCartney makes clothes that women want to wear. Her latest collection payed with volume and structure. Add to that the vibe of the show with the Models performing to the late George Michael’s Freedom, it was incredble.
For her last season at Chloé Claire Waight Keller seemed to show she had been saving her best for last. With beautiful separates, cute collars, knitwear that hugs you and incredible coats. I will miss Keller, but we will always have this collection.
Lagerfeld has set his sights on the moon and beyond, taking Chanel to space. This collection as always was beautiful, mixing the codes of the house with modern twists, Karl is always one giant leap ahead of everyone else.
In another controversial season for the House of Balenciaga. Demna Gvasalia took us on an incredible journey of the past present and the future of Balecniaga, with stunning and controversial pieces that will definitely sell out.
So there you have it for another season. The creativity and talent within the fashion industry is so overwhelming at the moment and I could have picked WAY more, but narrowing it down has been so much fun !!
I will see you next week, have a lovely weekend.
