Greetings my love, how are you? On a Friday I try to bring a variety of posts and ideas to you. Today I want to talk about some of the things that I like to do that reset my sense of self and recharges my energy. These moments are the things that make me saner and provide light relief from some of the pressures and stresses that we all face. We are only human and we need to decompress. For me this is what I am craving right now, my work load has control of me, I feel super unproductive and am CRAZY stressed right now.
So here are 4 things that I love to do to get my sanity back, and will be what I am doing this weekend.
A Beach Walk
This is obviously a great place to start -and is pictured- I love the beach, and find that especially out of season it has a quiet restorative power. Kick your shoes off and have a paddle - as long as it's not too cold - and just loose yourself in the wide open space. Even 20 minutes is enough for me to find some zen, but the hour and a half I spent for today's images was glorious.
Have a Coffee
I mean a solitary Coffee, grab a window seat and just watch the world go by. If you have things to do maybe tick a few things off your to-do list. Maybe take a book, I have loads of recommendations here. Or you could catch up on some of the latest posts on your favourite websites. Either way just sitting in a new environment makes for a calming hour or two.
Switch it Off
By it, I mean your god damn phone. I am the first to admit that I am on my phone a lot and that when I forget my beloved iPhone I am lost, but taking an hour just holding down the lock button and swiping it actually O-F-F is heaven. Being able to focus on something fully is incredible, and you then realise how distracting that electric bastard is.
Rewatch a Film
I love nothing better than enjoying a film that I have seen countless times, as I sit here I have just spent a happy afternoon watching the Devil Wears Prada which is something that I adore to watch with my sister. We know ALL the words. It is so nice to enjoy the cosy hug of the familiar, and why not do it via the medium of film. That's all.
