Tough Times

It is no secret that I haven’t been loving life as much as perhaps I would like to. It is a fun combination of anxiety and depression, and quite honestly I am over how crap it can make me feel.

For a long time, I thought that mental health was either good or bad and that one day I would fix mine. This is the most faulty thinking I have ever had and a very naive thought process. I know all too well, that this is part of me, and there will be better days, as well as days that make me feel like pure shite.

They say life is for living, but in reality some days it is just about surviving. I wanted to share some of the things that have helped me survive over the past few weeks and months. They might help, they might not, but all I can do is share and hope it might help someone else!

Sabrina the Teenage Witch

Before I go any further, yes this is on Amazon Prime, and yes Amazon is not the best example of ethical employers. I know this, but sometimes there are days when I can’t fight for everything all at once. This peppy childhood nostalgia-fest has boosted my emotional well-being to bearable, and have given me light in dark times.

It stands alone as a series today, so far it doesn’t seem too problematic, but it just reminds me of being little, and that is the feeling that I need right now. A 10/10 rewatch!

Cleansers

On the whole, cleansers are not that exciting, but for me, they are a big deal. I have struggled with my skin over the years and from acne, to dryness I have worked with it. Cleansing balances my skin, and my current faves have got it in control so that even on a shit day, I still look okay!

Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm - This balm nourishes the skin, dissolves built-up impurities by transforming into an oil, and hydrates by evolving into cleansing milk!

Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel - The First gel-to-oil cleanser deeply cleanses pores, melting into skin to remove impurities and make-up. It works to illuminate and nourish skin, leaving it fresh, balanced and radiant - oh and it smells divine!

Adaptology Red Avert Cleanser - This soothing balm is packed with botanicals to reduce redness, calm your skin, protect, nourish and give it some love. It smells sensational, is blue and I adore it!

Tea

There are things we all do daily that become routine. One thing I have noticed is that if we swap routines for rituals, suddenly they become more special. Tea is something I cannot live without, there is always a mug to hand. Filling that with special tea has been something that perks me up. I j’adore Brew Tea’s Earl Grey Loose leaf tea, full of zesty flavour and I popped to London at the end of September and picked up some Earl Grey from Harrods that is deeper and smokier - and I love how special it makes each day feel.

Madonna

Finally, something that doesn’t cost any money - yey! Even though I feel like a swirly mess of emotion, apparently I still have to work?! The one thing that gets me through admin, emails and content creation is music. I don’t obsess over new music, and for a mood boost, I am going to step back in time. I found full Madonna Albums on youtube and haven’t looked back, the ones I have had on replay are:

Nothing that new and mind-blowing, but all of these things have been there for me over the past few months, and sharing them might just help you too! Big love to you for joining, and I will see you next week darling.
