Prove Me Wrong!

I think it’s okay to be proven wrong.
For my 30th birthday, a few years back, I was bought a lawnmower. Now you know me, do I look like the type of person who gardens?
You’re right, I’m not!

It was a practical gift, we’d just moved into a house with a pretty large garden, that needed mowing. We didn’t, and don’t, have the money for a gardener. So a lawnmower was needed.

Fast forward to my 30th, and safe to say I was not thrilled. Entering my 30s suddenly felt grown up, sensible, and dare I say boring! A lawn mower?! So not me!
Yet, two years on, and from March to October I use it over and over again. I guess I’ve been proven wrong, it was what I needed. I can be practical, and I can also still be me. As I’ve gotten older, I’m enjoying the duality (and more) of myself.

I’m happy to be proven wrong, thrilled even, because it shows me new sides of myself! Which is a gift I always want to receive.
My 30s seem to be the first decade of my life, where I am happy, no, thrilled to be proven wrong!
