Sew the Seeds of UNITY

The queer community has never been so divided
It’s pride season, the time the community comes together. But there is a missing link, and that’s the unity we desperately need.
Right now in trans and queer spaces, orgs, and groups there are divides being created. I won’t call them out because that’s not what I’m about, nor do I want to sew more seeds of division.

The majority of us share ideals about politics, are against racism, fatphobia, ableism, and all forms of oppression against marginalised people.
I’m so conscious that outside of the community we’re being subjected to hostility. So why are we putting it on each other?

We should be creating community not cliques.
Fostering a space where we all thrive, not just the chosen few.
Celebrate everyone, not isolating some.
Emphasising the plus in LGBTQIA+.
It should never be about us v them, it should be us working together.

We need to shut down any form of division. Remind everyone that we are so much stronger together. There can be no hierarchy of value - every queer person is as valuable as the next - there is so much depending on us working TOGETHER!
So please to celebrate pride with me, can you promise that you will sew the seeds of unity?
