I wasn’t going to mark this, but I owe this little pink book the world, so I couldn't be happier to celebrate this special occasion!
I wrote this book during Covid, and then waited for the special moment for it to be published, only to be facing a terrible mental breakdown at the same time. It is strange, and at the time I had no idea, but having to be present to market and promote this tome did me the world of good.
This book kept me going even when things felt pretty bleak. I didn’t share it at the time, because I didn’t have the words to express it, and because I was trying to promote the book. However, it feels pretty momentous, and for that I am eternally grateful to the book.
The other reason to celebrate this book is to acknowledge all of you, the readers, and the thousands of you, who have told me how impactful the book has been for you. When you write a book (wait Ben it sounds like you have more experience than just one book? Maybe I do, more on that in the coming weeks and months) you hope that at least someone will read it.
But read it you have, and I have loved seeing the reviews and the messages you have sent me! Up and down the UK, Germany, Sweden, Brazil, Canada, and so many other places - I have been blown away by your love for this book.
This book changed my life, but it is clear that it has changed yours too. That is an important thing to mark, and so I am thrilled that the Book of Non-Binary Joy has been out a full year - and I hope it goes on helping people the world over!
