Tilted is a documentation of people who live their lives outside of the gender-binaries. As a non-binary person myself, I was tired of never seeing people like me represented in the media, at least not by LGBTQ+ people, so I decided to take matters into my own hands.
The photos are a way of saying, “Hi! We exist! We’re here no matter what you say, and we’ve been here all along!” The use of colour represents a pride flag, sort of deconstructed. It also makes the images super bold and super bright, and makes the series, and subjects, stand out.
It’s a celebration of queer culture and my community more than anything.
