An Alarm Clock Changed my life & other stories from January

Yes, I bought an alarm clock and it has changed my life. Facts are facts.

Well, to be more specific I expressed my wish to possess an alarm clock, and my mum bought it for me. So that is more or less the factual story. However, I am sure you all want to know how it changed my life.

Well, for as long as I can remember I have used my trusty iPhone as my alarm clock. Which in turn meant that every time my alarm woke me up, I instantly had my phone in my hand. The MINUTE I woke up. So it was always meant that the first 5/10/25/45/728 minutes of my day was spent scrolling through Instagram, reading my emails and wasting my time.

So I decided enough was enough. I now have a lovely yellow alarm clock that scares the absolute shit out of me every-time it wakes me up. I don’t look at my phone until I am actually awake.

Experiencing waking up, that sense of emerging from sleep, and feeling ready to take on the day. That is the feeling that you are missing when you wake up with your phone. I love showering when I wake up, because I wake up in the shower, and that is true bliss.

Talking of bliss, can we take a moment for Miss Wardwell in the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina? Oh, my word she is my style icon right now. Played by Glasgow native Michelle Gomez, from Green Wing and Doctor Who fame. Wardwell is possessed by a daemon and is sultry and stunning. Featuring some great coats and amazing blowouts. Miss Wardwell is a 2019 icon.

I have spoken to quite a few people who weren’t feeling C.A.O.S. If you also didn’t get beyond a few episodes, then I suggest that you persist because I have really enjoyed it. I would go as far to say, I really recommend it.

Talking of things that I highly recommend, let’s talk about ASOS Collusion. Collusion is ASOS’ genderless, youth-fueled diffusion line, launched in autumn of last year. 500 or so pieces of what is essentially unisex garments, at really reasonable pieces, and with a great size range.

There are not a huge amount of plus sizes, but the fact that there are bigger sizes in a main range is a miracle. There is also the inclusion of tall and petite sizes also. I love how accessible the collection is, and that it feels very warm and diverse. I have seen so many different people in some of the stand out pieces, I love how everyone makes the collection their own.

This cardigan is Collusion, and quite honestly I am in love. It is serious knitwear real estate, with billowing sleeves and when you walk quickly feels like this gif.

Oh one last thing, did you happen to catch the ABC Murders in the BBC? This was an adaptation of one of Agatha Christie’s Hercule Poirot novels. Well if you didn’t I recommend you do, it was a great story shot well with a great cast. However, the highlight for me was the appearance of Rupert Grint.

Grint played Inspector Crome, and I have no idea why, but found him very alluring. He was very surly, morose and quite grumpy. Who knew I would ever kind of fancy Ron Weasley!! On another note John Malcovich’s tortured Poirot was exceptional - well worth a watch.

Now is probably the best time to mention, that the cat having such a great time in these pictures is not mine. I’m not sure who the cat belongs to, but I was thrilled to be blessed by its presence.

Four things that have made my January brighter, Miss Wardwell, Rupert Grint, Collusion and of course my Yellow Alarm Clock. January is nearly over, can you believe that we have completed one twelfth of 2019.
